Soft soil stabilization

There are many different kinds of soil based on their mechanical and physical properties.

Soft soils or with in a low lifting capacity represent a risk for the structures by their tendency to become deformed.

Some failures can cause deformations or collapses of the land. When the ground receives a vertical compressive stress, it appears a deformation and horizontal tension efforts at the same time.

If the soil is reinforce with an ACE GG-I geogrid in can reduce significantly the deformation absorbing the generated efforts at the same time. ACE GG-I geogrid provides a lateral confinement so we can obtain the increase of the tension resistance.

In order to obtain these objectives it is important to know the following characteristics.

• Soil compounding
• Overload
• Mechanical properties of the ground

The use of some geosynthetics as geogrids and geotextiles allow stabilizing grounds, to increase the lifting capacity, to solve situations of superficial water level, among others; diminishing the work time, manual labor and costs.

Between its main applications is the work use such as:

• Paved ways
• Rail roads or airports runways
• Superficial foundations for structures
• Platforms of multiple uses (industrial house, ships, departmental parking, stores, warehouses)
