Erosion Control
A slope is exposed to erosion when it loss vegetation temporarily or definitively. The erosion is the main cause to generate instability in a natural slope.
There are some slopes which are more exposed to loss vegetation if:
- It is a steep slope
- It is conformed of inert material, stones or waste
- It is under a bad atmosphere conditions like: Strong winds, which cause the migration of fine particles of the ground. The impact of the drop of rain, that causes the loosening and transports of particles. The draining on the surface of the land, originating so that the amount of rain that falls is bigger then the capacity of infiltration in the land.
The erosion control systems by the use of EGA 30 geocell, M1315r geomat or coconut fiber geomats, provide superficial stability to get the vegetation permanence.
Some erosion system uses are in:
- Natural slopes
- Reinforced slopes
- Protection of rivers or channels
- Artificial embankments
