Emerald wall

Project:

Retaining wall for a residential area.

Place:

Atizapán, Estado de México

Problem:

A constructor company was thinking to develop a new residential zone in Atizapán. Atizapán has a rough topography. The strong unevenness’s that presented demanded the construction of new horizontal platforms for the foundation of the houses and also to make embankments in some zones for the construction of the roads.

Solution:

The problem was solved with the reinforcement of an ACE GG 60-I geogrid for the construction of the vertical retaining walls for the platforms. The walls had finishing of concrete. The walls for the roads were constructed to an inclination of 76° and after that a polypropylene geomat was installed in the entire slope to give a vegetated finishing. The economy and rapidity of the system benefitted the performance from the work and it was managed to obtain an aesthetic view within the residential area.
