Vegetated retaining wall

Project:

Vegetated wall

Place:

Chiluca, Estado de México

Problem:

In the limits of Mexico City and the state of Mexico is the zone of Chiluca. This zone is growing much and requires the construction of new schools for the people that lives there. In one of these new schools it was required the construction of a 7 meters high retaining wall of supporting a parking lot. The parking lot will give to service to the students and teachers. It was needed that the wall had vegetated finishing

Solution:

The problem was solved with the construction of a retaining wall reinforced with an ACE GG60-I geogrid with an inclination of 80 degrees. When the retaining wall was finished the constructor installed a polypropylene geomat so that it served like system of erosion control. The geomat gives the support to the mixture of vegetal soil and seed of grass so that it to obtain a vegetated finishing.
