Retaining wall using ACE GG geogrid made of concrete tablets finishing

Place:

Tlapa, Guerrero.

Problem:

In the State of Guerrero, Mexico the people who live there required the construction of an electrical sub-station to be able to take care of the energy necessities. By such reason in that complex the construction of diverse platforms and retaining walls were projected to have the bearing capacity to be able to support to the necessary equipment for the good operation of the sub-station.

Solution:

The platforms and the retaining walls were constructed with local soil and it was compacted in layers between which a system of soil reinforcement was integrated. It was ACE GG100-I and ACE GG 60-I geogrid. A “ML Ingeniería” 7 cm prefabricated concrete tablet was integrated to the system that offers aesthetic finishing to the work. These tablets do not work structurally because geogrid do the work to support the operating earth pushes.
