Superficial erosion control system using coconut geomat |
Project:Superficial erosion control system using coconut geomat Place:Atizapán, Edo. de Mex. Problem:The problem was about a slope in a new outlet mall located in the state of Mexico at the border with Mexico City. Since the beginning of the construction it was necessary to build diverse platforms for the stores and the parking lot, which demanded earthworks on great scale to obtain the embankments to be used for these aims. As a result of these works a slope was generated, this new slope was at the front of this mall. This Slope required the protection against the erosion while the vegetation was developed. They choose bugambilia plant to cover the surface of the slope. Bugambilia plant has a beautiful purple flowers so it will give a great vie of the slope, but it has to be necessary to protect it against the atmosphere conditions. Solution:The material that was chosen to give the protection of bugambilia plant was a 100% coconut fiber geomat. The function of this product is to give a superficial protection in a slope. The 100% coconut fiber geomat protect the slope against atmosphere conditions such as rain, wind and superficial drags, even that, at the same time can offers optimal conditions for the development of the chosen vegetation, in this case bugambilia. To the passage of time the 100% coconut fiber geomat will be degraded biologically and taken free step to a plant that is developed without problems. Return to Representative Works >>>
