Artificial lake

Project:

Soil stabilization using EGA 30 geocell.

Place:

Acapulco, Gro.

Problem:

In a hotel an artificial lake was planned to give to the place a better facilities. This lake was generated by excavating. Later the bottom was compacted and was covered the entire surface with HDPE geomembrane to avoid filtrations to the land. Nevertheless the perimeter edge of the lake was not sufficiently stable to maintain the grass. It was required of an element to get the maintenance the vegetation in its site so that the soil will not be lost.

Solution:

In order to be able to maintain the vegetal soil and the grass in the same place, it was placed an EGA 30 geocell. Many polyethylene belts had been welded by extrusion method to install the geocell next to the geomembrane in the entire lake. This solution not only offered an architectural finish; but brings a perfect delimited area of the lake maintaining the contour vegetated with grass.
